Lisa Gade reviews Google’s 2017 Pixel 2, and talks about the Pixel 2 XL. The Pixel 2 has a 5” AMOLED 1920 x 1080 Gorilla Glass 5 display, a sensibly placed rear fingerprint scanner, solid battery life and it’s Daydream VR ready. The phone runs Android 8 Oreo on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 4GB RAM and your choice of 64 or 128GB storage. It’s sold unlocked and through Verizon for $650- $750. The Pixel 2 XL is $850-$950.

The phones have one 12.2MP f/1.8 rear camera with faux-keh software generated bokeh in Portrait mode. There’a an 8MP front camera and stereo front facing speakers. The Pixel 2 XL has a larger battery and a wider aspect ratio 6” 2880 x 1440 pOLED display. HTC builds the Pixel 2 and LG builds the Pixel 2 XL.
